Dive Into Our Community Roots!

Step into a world where community flourishes through genuine connections and shared learning. By exploring our story, discover how we embrace the spirit of permaculture and kinship. Gain insight into our mission to nurture an abundant future, appreciating the intricate weave of earth care and cultural diversity that defines our initiative.

The farm is Our Global Family Farm because we are showcasing indigenous food crops from around the globe. We are growing what is indigenous to Africa, Asia, the Americas and Europe. We are promoting diversity of plants, people and traditions from all cultures. We honor TEK – Traditional Ecological Knowledge of the Chumash and Salinan first nations. We are allies to the Northern Chumash Tribal Council and YTT Tribe and the Salinan Tribe and support their Land Back initiatives here along the Central Coast of California.

Land Acknowledgement for Chumash Peoples

We ask you to join us in acknowledging the Chumash Peoples, their Elders, their Tribes and relatives, as well as their future generations, as the First Nations that tended to this land.

We come together today to acknowledge, stand up for, and help give voice to, the unceded lands and waters of the Chumash people.

Let us all to reflect that these lands and the peoples of these lands that we live and work on are Chumash territories that have been taken away and that their cultural ways have been excluded and erased. The damage that has been done and continues to be done by not sharing the true history and legacy in this place and others, and by the exploitation of the Natural Cultural Resources of these areas, can never be erased.

Let us work together to prevent further damage to these lands and waters by supporting Chumash traditional stewardship practices on these lands and waters.
